Perhaps there is no one genre you prefer more than any other because reading not only stirs and triggers the imagination, it takes you into many different worlds. Reading informs, entertains, and perhaps more importantly can teach teach of us about the true meaning of life. As a new author in the realm of creative writing, a new world has also emerged, a world which allows the imagination to flourish and run wild. It challenges this author to put into words what his imagination sees so that a reader can comprehend, enjoy, and use those words to apply to his or her imagination and life. True Name: Augustus Hammond Green, Jr.
King Hambone is a name bestowed upon me by my engineering peers during my 50+ years as a radar engineer. I have published many technical articles and received several patents. My articles have appeared in technical journals and other forms of technical publications. So, I am not new to writing but technical writing is far different from creative writing.
Having retired, I am now embarking on a creative writing career. My genres and subgenres include mystery, suspense, thrillers, crime and romance. I believe any good story should include a good romance or two, for without love, does life have any meaning? I might even try writing a few children's stories later, like the made-up ones I used to tell my daughter and grandson. There is nothing like bringing pleasure to a child.
My favorite hobbies are Model Railroading and telling made-up stories to children. My English teacher in high school introduced me to Creative Writing and now I have decided, although late in life, to try my hand at writing stories for which she inspired me to do.
I have a passion for doggies; they can teach so much about love. The are devoted, never judge, and are so forgiving. Kinda similar to creative writing in that good writing always involves love. Dog stories are among my favorites. My all-time favorite story is "LAD, A DOG," by Albert Payson Terhune. The ending to this story is guaranteed to elicit a tear or two.

PART 1. THE CAPTURE
Greg Holder, chief of detectives for the Aberdeen, Maryland police department, and his staff are baffled by the lack of motive and the discovery of an unusual weapon in the murder of an heiress. Needing assistance he approaches his wife, Paula, a stay-at-home mom who had a distinguished career as a detective and practicing attorney. Since their children were seldom home during the day, Paula, must decide between resuming her career or continue being a bored homebody. Although the decision was easy, her life would change dramatically. She was about to become a primary investigator because of her skills and knowledge. Paula follows a series of incidents leading to the capture of the murderers.
No solid evidence is uncovered, only circumstantial. After the capture of the two alleged perpetrators, one perpetrator challenges the evidence and demands an attorney. The District Attorney has no choice but to remove Paula from the police department when no defense attorney is fothcoming and forces her to be the perpetrators’ attorney. Finding herself in the untenable position of defending clients she knows to be guilty, attorney/client privilege dictates what she can and cannot reveal what her clients tell her. She must defend the defendants to the best of her abilities, a chore she does not relish.

This single story is a three-book serial novel taken from true events, not necessarily related, as recorded in law enforcement files. In its development, the complexity of this story was enormous because there are several subplots, all intertwined together to make it complete. There are several subplots, some of which include: a passionate romantic story rocked by a what appears to be a tragic ending but ends in indescribable happiness; a mystery of captivating circumstances that affect family relationships forever; a fascinating friendship bond between two women that endures and endears through tragedy after tragedy, romance after romance, and despite an event that almost ends their live. At the conclusion, lives have been forever changed, friendships survive, and love endures, even though disappointments remain. This is what makes life, life.
As readers know, life is not always simple. Life never is just one event; it is many. We would all wish to believe that life is easy. Sadly, it is not. But life is what we make it to be, not what we yearn for it to be.
The two principal female characters are a combination of several real people associated with true events molded into two fictional females in a fictional tale. This is also true of all of the primary and sub-primary characters who are based on real people as recorded in law enforcement files. Each single character is a blend of more than one person. But for each person, there is a true relevant event.
Deception, love, and friendship filled with suspense, intrigue, and romance and the intertwining of bizarre events are the essence of this tale.
Although a three-book series, each book could stand alone. What would remain at the end of each book, would be questions of what comes next, how is all this going to turn out, and so on. If one chose to read only the first book, the rest of the story would be left to the imagination of a reader. If one were to read only the second book or only the third book, the reader might wonder, how did this story begin, how does it end, how did we get this far. It is the reader’s choice of what to read.

Part 1 is the first book of Rise and Fall of a Mafia. It begins with the brutal murder of an FBI Division Director's wife by a mafia godfather. When the director passes away, his division reorganizes and sets out to crush the mafia. After reorganizing, a young female student, Claire, arrives to help with division activities although she has no investigative responsibilities. She meets the lead investigative agent, Chris, and it is love at first sight. Their romance leads to chance encounters with the mafia godfather, Sortelli, and his fiancee, Lilly.
Claire and Lilly immediately develop an enduring and endearing bond of friendship, a friendship of love that so strongly binds them together, that unexpected obstacles and bizarre events that will occur in their lives can be overcome. This bond ultimately leads Claire into becoming an FBI agent who infiltrates the mafia.

Joey, the drug dealing kingpin, is seeking vengeance on the corporation's godfather and his wife and plans a surprise for them both because he felt rejected by the wife before she and the godfather were married. Claire has succeeded in further strengthening the strong bond between herself and Lilly, the godfather's wife. As events unfold, Lilly becomes extremely depressed when her husband develops a paranoia that threatens the marriage. Unexpected family revelations are discovered that strengthen the bond between Lilly and Claire but the unexpected revelations ultimately lead to devastating consequences.

This a true story told to the author by a person wishing to remain anonymous to protect this person's family. It is written in the context of a masculine pronoun since a sincere desire was expressed to not reveal this person's current gender. This story is a complex, life's journey of a transgender person with all of its many ups and down. This person's life reached a point where a decision had to be made about whom should this person serve, God or Mammon. Obviously, this person chose God and gave up his desire to transition. However, it is how he arrived at his decision, with its astounding circumstances, that will mystify many people.
The development of this story is currently underway and is expected to be completed by the end of 2022 if not before. Watch this site as the story's progress will be updated periodically.
ESCAPE FROM THE DARK WORLD OF ESPIONAGE
IN DEVELOPMENT
In this story, Claire, the heroine of my first book, RISE AND FALL OF A MAFIA, and Paula, the heroine of my second book, FROM EVIL'S DARK ABYSS INTO GLORY'S LIGHT, meet and instantly form a deep and long-lasting friendship. Since both are practicing attorneys and live in the same area, they decide to form a joint law practice. Once they have established their practice, they settle into the arduous
task of establishing a clientele base and business relationships.
Almost immediately, Paula finds herself immersed into an adverse situation with Claire's sister, Tammy, who is a CIA operative and Anna, a former FBI agent and close friend who joined Tammy upon her entry into the CIA, when Anna is shot near their office. Anna was almost to their office when she was shot by agents of a Chinese spy ring after they discover she is a CIA agent. Severely wounded, she struggles to the door, rushes in and collapses.
This scene sets the stage for the story which thrusts Claire and Paula directly into becoming espionage agents from which they want to escape. Difficulties in doing so abound because they become so embroiled in acting as double agents for the CIA their lives become endangered. One of these difficulties is associated with a corrupt Department of Justice branch in which Claire had been previously employed. This corruption extends into the executive branch of the federal government because of its ties to the Chinese Communist Party that is in control of China. This corruption is so evil that eventually even the President is found to be controlled by the Chinese.
Since this story is still in development, some of the scenes may evolve into something different. I encourage my readers to continue the monitoring of my site to see how this story unfolds. I don't know how that will be either nor do I know how this story will ultimately end. This little tale is based upon the circumstances in which our country now finds itself .

By conducting a review without a fee ensures that I am free to conduct an honest review. This benefits both the author and me. Any expenses that are incurred in the submission of my reviews will be documented and reimbursement is expected. Most reviews are submitted online and
of the story should any expenses be incurred. Before your book is launched, the reviewing process should have begun as the reviews will be useful to the launch team for marketing. TITLING
The title of a book is extremely important to a potential buyer or reader. The title should intrigue the reader the moment the book is picked up and it should be consistent with the cover design. Both the book review and the title should go hand in hand. I highly recommend that both the review and selection of a title should be done at the same time. Fortunately, the title does not have to be selected until after the manuscript is completed. Both the review and title should be selected
before your book is launched. I do charge a small fee for assisting in the selection of a title and I highly recommend that the author and I work together to hash out a meaningful and attention-grabbing title. Self-published authors often have difficulty in getting their books to market, especially first-time authors. But never get discouraged. Far more often than not, your first venture will likely be a dismal failure. Most first timers do give up. Just don't be afraid to fail.
Once on the market, however, the job of selling your product becomes highly challenging. As a self-published author myself, I have found the marketing chore to be one of dread and frustration. There are no easy paths to success.
I have found the creation of a website to be one of the most useful marketing tools, but again, the diffuiculty of making the public aware of your website is a horrendous test at best. The test will be whether younhave the fortitude to continue.
I have no concrete advice to offer at this point since I am in the early stages of my writing career. I have discovered that the easiest path for me is to take the bull by the horns so to speak and just go do it. I probably fail more than I succeeed but one success oveecomes several failures and breeds more success.

Once the motive for the heiress’ murder is uncovered and the complete story revealed, the prosecuting attorneys, Stuart Locke and Joey Aldrich, and the defending attorney, Paula, find themselves at an impasse. Although they know the defendants are guilty, the circumstances surrounding the murder are confounding. Confronted with the impossible task of determining not only the appropriate justice to be rendered but also the punishment, no solution ensues. When one of the perpetrators makes an offhand remark, Paula seizes the unexpected opportunity presented and life changing decisions for the defendants results. At just the right time, the defending attorney makes the remark known to the Prosecuting Attorneys without violating attorney/client privilege. A plea agreement is reached before a jury verdict, an expected verdict of premeditated murder or a hung jury can be rendered. Seeing either possibility, the trial judge, anxious to avoid the problems that will certainly surface because of either potential appeals or a hung jury, agrees to the plea arrangement. An unorthodox sentencing occurs that astounds everyone. When the defendants begin serving their sentences, life changing opportunities are presented that will forever change the defendants’ lives, despite all the wrongs that were finally disclosed that precipitated the murder.
